Media Advisory/REMINDER/New Exhibition: Treaty of Paris on Display; Media Walk-Through and Invitation to Official Launch

Photo and Interview Opportunities

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - The media are invited to accompany Ian E. Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada and Allen Weinstein, Archivist of the United States while they preview the new exhibition 1783 Subject or Citizen?, on Tuesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. This exhibition marks the first collaborative initiative between Library and Archives Canada and the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.

Media in attendance will have the opportunity to see the actual Treaty of Paris as well as other rare documents from the 1700's, drawn from Library and Archives Canada's collections.

There will also be photo and interview opportunities during the opening ceremonies of the exhibition on May 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the presence of Mr. David Wilkins, United States Ambassador to Canada and other dignitaries.

Both events will be held at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa.
