Media Advisory/REMINDER: Welcome Hall Mission Is Sending 2,600 Underprivileged Children Back-to-School With Heads Held High

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2012) - On August 21st and 22nd, Welcome Hall Mission will be distributing 2,600 back-packs filled with school supplies to disadvantaged children during our annual Back-to-School with Heads Held High event.

In Montreal, the drop-out rate is more than 40% and underprivileged children are affected the most. Four out of five boys from disadvantaged neighborhoods throughout Montreal do not complete their high school education. The effects of poverty have been linked to lower quality of health, income and education levels. Providing underprivileged children with the tools they need to start the academic year off right encourages them to stay in school and improve their quality of life.

To mark this 11th edition, Welcome Hall Mission has prepared two full days of activities and entertainment around a "Day on the farm" theme. 2,600 children will get to see live animals, performers, farmers, professional animators and many more surprises!
