Media Advisory/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Okanagan Research & Innovation Centre-ORIC

PENTICTON, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 8, 2006) - The Okanagan's only fully fledged business incubator will be officially opened on Friday, November 10, 2006 during a ribbon cutting ceremony in Penticton. The Okanagan Research and Innovation Centre (ORIC), housed in the National Research Council's Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (NRC-DRAO) aims to provide business mentoring, engineering and consulting services to innovative SMEs in the region.

SMEs can benefit from services such as rental space to local firms, clients access to NRC's facilities, equipment and design software. ORIC will help ease the path from research and innovation to the commercialization of new products.

Industry veterans, local SMEs and community stakeholders will be on hand to celebrate the launch of this much anticipated facility.
