Media Advisory/Secrets of Canada's Archives: One of a Kind Meeting with Jacques Godbout

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 8, 2016) - The writer, editor and filmmaker Jacques Godbout will be the special guest during the second event of Library and Archives Canada's unique Signature Series. He is the founder and inaugural president of the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois and currently chairs the board of Les Éditions du Boréal, and a privileged witness of the Quiet Revolution.

Hosted, before a live audience by Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, the Signature Series features original interviews with individuals who provide insights into some of the secrets housed in our national collection.

Mr. Godbout suspects that the common thread in his work - which he is the first to admit is eclectic - lies in the documents that he donated to Library and Archives Canada between 1989 and 2014.

Documents from the Jacques Godbout fonds will be on display during the event.

The discussion will take place in French with simultaneous English translation.

Date: March 10, 2016
Time: 12:15pm to 1:15pm
Location: Pellan Room (2nd floor)
395 Wellington Street
Ottawa, Ontario
