Media Advisory: Senators and Canadian Blood Services to host annual blood donor clinic this week

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 5, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators and Canadian Blood Services have partnered to play host to Sens Big Save! - a community-wide effort to reach a goal of 1,200 units of blood at this year's annual donor drive, which starts today and runs through Saturday, Dec. 10, at all Ottawa blood donor clinics.

For a fourth consecutive season, the Senators are encouraging fans to roll up their sleeves as representatives from Canadian Blood Services prepare for the holiday season, which is typically a challenging time to collect blood because many donors are busy with family activities or are travelling.

Jeff Kyle, vice-president, marketing, Ottawa Senators

Anne Campbell, director of donor and clinic services, North/East Ontario and Nunavut

Faith Arseneault, mother of 14-month-old blood recipient

These guests will be on hand to visit with donors. Each donor will have the chance to win Senators prize packages, many of which include hockey tickets.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Ottawa Blood Donor Clinic, 1575 Carling Avenue, Ottawa.
