Media Advisory: Sens Foundation to Announce Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run Lineup, Roger's Dream Team Members to Be Unveiled

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - The Sens Foundation will host a news conference on Sunday, May 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Roger's House to introduce members of 2011 Roger's Dream Team. This group of Roger's House children, and their families, will be spearheading the charge to encourage families, individuals, companies and organizations to participate in the annual fundraising event in support of the paediatric palliative care hospice located on the grounds of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. As well as introducing this year's Dream Team, organizers will provide information on two new initiatives on the event roster: the Roger's all-star team comprised of families celebrating the lives of their deceased children and a T-shirt design contest.

Roger's Dream Team, all-star families, along with corporate sponsors, friends and families will be on the starting line when the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House presented by the Ottawa Citizen kicks off at Scotiabank Place on Sunday, June 19. Funds raised through the event are urgently needed by the Sens Foundation in support of the work being done at Roger's House.

In 2006, the Sens Foundation made a long-term commitment to cover a portion (about 10 per cent) of the annual operating costs for Roger's House. The foundation is now responsible for 30 per cent of the operating costs and provides funds for capital, research and two endowment funds.

Currently demonstrating support for Roger's Dream Team and the fundraiser are the following corporate sponsors: Scotiabank, the Ottawa Citizen, Nordion, PwC, Irving Oil, Dollco Printing, CHUM radio, EMC Your Community Newspaper and Enterprise Car Rentals. Opportunities to sponsor a member of the team are still available.
