Media Advisory: Six Months in Space for Robert Thirsk NASA Crew News Conference

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 2, 2009) - representatives are invited at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to participate in the Expedition 20 Crew News Conference live from the Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. CSA astronaut Robert Thirsk and his colleagues will answer questions from media via NASA TV.

Only journalists present at the CSA will have an opportunity to ask questions to the astronauts.

Journalists who cannot be on site will be able to watch the event live on NASA TV. NASA TV is now carried on an MPEG-2 digital signal accessed via satellite AMC-6, at 72 degrees west longitude, transponder 17C, 4040 MHz, vertical polarization. A Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) - compliant Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) with modulation of QPSK/DBV, data rate of 36.86 and FEC 3/4 is needed for reception. NASA TV Multichannel Broadcast includes: Public Services Channel (Channel 101); the Education Channel (Channel 102) and the Media Services Channel (Channel 103).
