Media Advisory: Soldier's Cup Puts Soldiers to the Test

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2013) - Media are invited to observe competitors of this year's Canadian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (CASAM) Soldier's Cup competition.

When: Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1 p.m.

Where: Connaught Ranges and Primary Training Centre (CRPTC), Nepean, Ontario.

What: The Canadian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (CASAM) Soldier's Cup competition. Event is not open to the public.

Competing soldiers from across Canada and the world run a 3.5km trail, navigate an obstacle course and finish with advancing towards and shooting on targets. The winning Canadian Army team will go on to represent the Canadian Armed Forces at the Australian Army Skill-At-Arms Meeting (AASAM) in 2014. Competitors will be available for interviews following the competition.

Directions to CRPTC: Take Highway 417 to the Moodie exit in Nepean. Follow Moodie north to Carling Ave., then turn left heading west on Carling Ave. to Rifle Rd. The Ranges are clearly marked with a large DND sign. Turn right and follow the road for 2 km and then veer left at the NCR sign of Shirley's Bay Park. Proceed through the gate and report to range control on the right.
