MEDIA ADVISORY: Solera Networks™ Demonstrates an Open Vision for Next Generation Threat Prevention at RSA

Real-Time Network Forensics and New Instant Access Tool Empower Any Security Product With Complete Network Visibility

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 15, 2011) - RSA -- Solera Networks™, a leading network forensics company, is empowering IT organizations with new network security products. For the first time, the company will demonstrate how events detected by any intrusion prevention system, anti-malware, data leakage prevention, or similar tool can be instantly enhanced with a full recording and description of the network activity surrounding the event.

Demonstrations include:

  • Solera OS 5.0, a major update to the company's award-winning network forensics platform -- In beta testing on major enterprise and US government networks, the software will be publically unveiled for the first time, featuring:

    • New Active Reporting technology to combat security issues like insider threats, malware, botnets, advanced persistent threats, and data breaches.

    • New Application Classification and Description features to provide IT organizations unprecedented visibility into network activities and describe the network with an order of magnitude more detail than other network forensics tools.

    • Core design that integrates with other tools in the security ecosystem by exchanging data through standard files and a web-based API.

  • DeepSee Universal Connector plug-in for Mozilla Firefox -- The tool brings the power of active network forensics to any security product with the click of a button and delivers instant access to reveal the full source and scope of any security event.

    • DeepSee Universal Connector gives organizations the choice to select anti-malware, IDS/IPS, SEIM and log management tools from best-of-breed vendors as they build out their Next Generation Threat Prevention stack. Existing investments are protected and users are not locked into a closed system.

    • The tool will be available for the Firefox browser this spring and for other browsers in 2011.

Demonstrations begin Tuesday morning at booth 2359 in the RSA Expo Hall.
