Media Advisory: Special Viewing of the Documentary "Sisters in Arms" on International Women's Day

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - As part of International Women's Day 2011, the Chief of the Air Staff and National Defence Champion for Women, Lieutenant-General André Deschamps, is extending an invitation to media representatives to the special viewing of the Canadian documentary "Sisters in Arms", on March 8th at 2 p.m.

This 48-minute documentary is based on the experience of three remarkable women who share their stories of loss and inspiration from the frontlines in Afghanistan.

The viewing will be followed by a question period with the film's director, Beth Freeman, and with women from the Canadian Forces who will share their experiences.

Where: 101 Colonel By Drive, Conference Room D – 2nd floor, North Tower

Date: Tuesday, March 8, 2011

When: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This year's International Women's Day theme is "Equal Opportunity to Excel." International Women's Day is held annually on March 8th and was established in 1977 by the United Nations.
