Media Advisory: Stand-up of Canadian Joint Operations Command

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2012) - Canada's new command, the Canadian Joint Operations Command, will be officially stood-up in a ceremony to be held at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum on Friday, October 5.

The ceremony will be attended by the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence and General Walt Natynczyk, Chief of the Defence Staff who will officially stand-up the Canadian Joint Operations Command.

When: Friday, October 5, at 12:30 p.m.
Where: Canada's Aviation and Space Museum, 11 Aviation Parkway, Ottawa
What: The official stand-up of the Canadian Joint Operations Command

A military Guard of Honour will greet the official party outside the museum between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. There will also be a brief media availability following the ceremony, during which time Lieutenant-General Stuart Beare, Commander of Canadian Joint Operations Command, will be available to take questions from the media.

Notes to editor / news director: Media should arrive at the Aviation and Space Museum no later than 12 p.m. on October 5, and will be required to show their media credentials upon arrival.
