OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 6, 2014) - Shortly after Statistics Canada releases its monthly Labour Force Survey at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7, CLC Senior Economist Angella MacEwen will be available for comment to the media.
The Survey will describe the Canadian workforce for February 2014. The CLC has just released a report saying that the monthly Labour Force Survey fails to adequately measure underemployment, which has become prevalent in the Canadian job market. The CLC says that Canada needs a better and broader measure of underemployment if governments are to engage successfully in assisting job creation.
