Media Advisory: Streetcars Return to St. Clair for a While

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 4, 2007) - Starting on Sunday, January 7, the 512 ST. CLAIR route will be served by both buses and streetcars. Streetcars will run between Keele Street and St. Clair West Station, while buses will run between St. Clair West Station and St. Clair Station at Yonge Street.

Buses and streetcars will make all their connections at St. Clair West Station at Bathurst Street. During the morning and afternoon rush hours, service will run every three to four minutes, and every five to 10 minutes at all other times.

By mid February, streetcars will replace buses over the entire route as construction of the streetcar right-of-way slows during the winter. Buses will make their return to St. Clair Avenue when construction picks up again during the summer.

For more information on these and other service changes, TTC customers can call 416 393-INFO (4636), check the InfoPosts located at transfer locations on their routes, or visit www.ttc.ca.
