Media Advisory: Sudbury Gets Ready to "Jump Up" for Public Child Care

Media conference tomorrow to press City on child care and announce free concert Sunday

SUDBURY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 27, 2009) - The City of Greater Sudbury will 'Jump Up' for public child care this weekend, a coalition of child care activists will tell a news conference tomorrow, October 28.

The coalition will announce a free community concert this coming Sunday, November 1, called "Jump Up for Public Child Care." As well, they will call on local politicians at all levels of government to reaffirm their support for affordable, accessible child care.

The "Jump Up for Public Child Care" concert is a project of CUPE Ontario, the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC) and the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL).

This free concert is family-friendly and non-partisan. It will feature Quebec folk sensation Genticorum, local author Ken Lillie-Paetz, and treats for the kids. Sunday, November 1, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at Cambrian College Student Centre, 1400 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury.
