Media Advisory: The Ceremonial Guard to Perform the First Guard Mount of the 2013 Season

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 21, 2013) - The Ceremonial Guard will perform the first Changing of the Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill on Monday June 24, at 10 a.m. for the first time this 2013 season.

The Ceremonial Guard is a unit in the Canadian Armed Forces which performs a variety of public duties in Ottawa between late June and the end of August. In addition to the Changing of the Guard ceremony, each day they perform sentry duties at Rideau Hall and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier located at the National War Memorial, with a changing of the sentries every hour on the hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
