Media Advisory: The Governor General of Canada to Receive Honorary Doctorate from Mount Allison University

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 29, 2011) - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will receive an honoris causa doctorate from Mount Allison University, and deliver an address at the commencement ceremony to welcome new students. The event will take place in Mount Allison's Convocation Hall (37 York Street) in Sackville, New Brunswick, on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 7 p.m.

During his address, the Governor General will focus on the importance of education and learning, and invite students to think about their journey. He will also encourage them to participate in the planning of a smart and caring nation.

Mount Allison University's commencement ceremony introduces new students into the Mount Allison community, while embracing its history and goals.
