MEDIA ADVISORY: The MountainGate Country Club Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament to Raise Funds to Contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project

WHEN: Monday, Aug. 13, 10 a.m.

WHAT: The MountainGate Country Club Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament to raise funds to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project, which serves the severely wounded veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan combat operations.

WHO: Numerous wounded warrior celebrities will play joined by other celebs including Johnny Mathis, Pat Boone, Elgin Baylor, Maury Wills, Pat Studstill and Fred Williamson.

VISUAL: At 11:00 a.m. sharp, a dramatic opening ceremony will be marked by a color guard, plus the wounded warriors who will be playing, AND more than 250 golfers saluting the wounded warriors.

Interviews will be available from 10 - 10:45 a.m.

This will be an event that testifies to the courage of wounded warriors injured on active duty and in their post military lives and endeavors. It will be an exceptional human interest story that not only salutes these heroes, but also reflects the respect and admiration that the citizens of Los Angeles feel for these exceptional Soldiers, Sailors and Marines.

(Travel north on Sepulveda Boulevard to MountainGate Drive, the stop light after Bel Air Crest, north of Getty Center.)
