Media and the Publisher of the Daily Newspaper Metro
will Launch a Major Recycling Program in the Montreal
Metro System...

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 7, 2005) -

...in the Presence of the Mayor of Montreal, the Chairman of the Board
of the STM and the President and CEO of Cascades Inc.

The daily newspaper Metro, owned by Publications Metropolitaines inc. -
a partnership between Transcontinental Media, Metro International and
Gesca - and Transcontinental Media invite representatives of the media
to a press conference at which highlights of the new recycling awareness
campaign Un Metro qui nous est propre will be unveiled. The news
conference and campaign launch, which will take place in collaboration
with the Societe de transport de Montreal and Cascades Inc., will be
held at the McGill metro station on Wednesday, March 9 at 15:00.

The media will be met by Gerald Tremblay, mayor of Montreal; Andre
Prefontaine, president of Transcontinental Media; Alain Lemaire,
president and CEO of Cascades Inc.; Claude Dauphin, president of the
STM; and Stephane Gagne, publisher of Metro.

The campaign will be launched with the installation of 200 recycling
bins and establishment of a recycling awareness brigade. With the help
of Montreal subway system users, Metro hopes to recover 400 tonnes of
newsprint a year and improve the look and cleanliness of the city's
metro stations.
