CUPE Ontario's university workers tour highlighting campus underfunding and transparency comes to McMaster University on February 9

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 9, 2015) - Get ready! The Ontario Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees' (CUPE Ontario's) university workers' committee is bringing their Where's the Funding (WTF) Road Show to McMaster University on Monday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m.

The Where's the Funding Road Show is a campaign that highlights both the chronic underfunding at university campuses across the province, as well as the serious lack of transparency requirements for university administrations in Ontario. It is a project of the Ontario University Workers' Coordinating Committee (OUWCC) which speaks for more than 25,000 university workers represented by CUPE in Ontario.

The road show will kick off at 10:00 a.m. in the lobby of the McMaster Students' Centre atrium with a brief presentation by OUWCC Chair Janice Folk-Dawson and member mobilizer Diana Zawadski who will be joined by representatives of CUPE Locals active on the Brock University campus.

Following the presentation, the road show will take a brief tour to highlight areas on campus where funding for operations, academics, and general maintenance appear to not be going.

Media wishing to attend the Where's the Funding Road Show are invited to contact Kevin Wilson, CUPE Communications, at 416-821-6641.
