Media Advisory: Their Excellencies to Attend the 2013 Canada Army Run

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 20, 2013) - As patrons of Canada Army Run, Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will attend this year's event, being held on Sunday, September 22, 2013, in Ottawa. The run will start at the corner of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue.

At 7:15 a.m., Their Excellencies will meet with injured soldiers and other disabled athletes participating in Canada Army Run. At 7:25 a.m., His Excellency will address athletes competing in the five-kilometre run. At 8:50 a.m., the Governor General will also address athletes competing in the half marathon.

Their Excellencies are pleased to serve as patrons of Canada Army Run and to have the opportunity to show their support for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families. They strongly believe that the physical and mental health benefits gained from being active lead to a better, happier and healthier lifestyle.
