Media Advisory: Thousands Fill Victoria's UVic Campus for Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure; Record Numbers Expected at this Year's Event

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2005) - On Sunday, October 2, 2005, media are invited to join media celebrities, special guests and over 6,000 women, men and children, as they walk, jog or run in this year's Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in Victoria.

The CIBC Run for the Cure is a national, single-day fundraising event involving more than 170,000 Canadians in over 40 communities across the country. Organizers of the Victoria run anticipate a record turn-out this year, and hope to exceed the 6,100 participants and $469,000 raised at last year's Victoria Run. Proceeds from the CIBC Run for the Cure enable the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to fulfill its mandate of breast cancer research, education, diagnosis and treatment.
