Media Advisory: Toronto Officers' Garrison Ball to Recognize 70th Anniversary of VE Day

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 27, 2015) - Media are invited to watch the military pageantry and pomp of The Toronto Garrison Officers Ball, the premier social event for the city's military community, on Saturday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. in Liberty Grand at Exhibition Place.

The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Minister of National Defence Jason Kenney, Minister of Veterans Affairs Erin O'Toole and Toronto Mayor John Tory will be among the dignitaries attending this year's Ball. This Toronto Garrison Officers Ball is hosted by the 7th Toronto Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, and recognises the ever-present need to bridge the past with the present, which is being done by acknowledging the return of Canadian sailors, soldiers and air force personnel from the conflict in Afghanistan, and the ever-present risks a life of service carries. Guests of Honour will be local families of those who lost loved ones, along with representative wounded warriors of this and other recent conflicts.
