Media Advisory: Toronto Public Library workers to mark Library Week with celebration in front of Yorkville Library Branch tomorrow afternoon

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 22, 2014) - As people across the country observe Public Library Month, the members of Local 4948 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 4948) are inviting the public to a celebration and information session tomorrow, October 23, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. outside the Toronto Public Library's Yorkville Branch.

Library staff will be handing out postcards, novelty eyeglasses, and candy bags to commemorate library month, and to celebrate more than 130 years of providing quality public library services in Toronto. Established in 1907, the Yorkville Library is the oldest in the Toronto Public Library system.

The event also coincides with Public Library Week in Ontario which takes place from
October 19 to October 25.
