Media Advisory: Toronto Scottish Regiment Holds Trooping the Colours Parade

ETOBICOKE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 10, 2015) - Media are invited to watch the military pageantry and pomp of The Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother's Own) parading with their Pipes and Drums and guards in an historic Trooping of the Colours parade on Saturday, June 13th at 11:45 a.m. in their Etobicoke Armoury.

The parade will be conducted as part of The Regiment's 100th Anniversary of Service Celebrations and as a concluding event to the year's operational readiness training.

What: Historic Trooping of The Colours Parade as part of The Regiment's 100th
Anniversary of Service Celebrations

Background: The Toronto Scottish Regiment is an Army Reserve Infantry Regiment consisting of 200 Reservist who train throughout the year for operational duty from armouries in Etobicoke and Mississauga. The Regiment perpetuates the 75th Canadian Expeditionary Force that was formed during World War 1 in 1915. Each year The Regiment concludes the training year with a parade and family barbeque. This year, an historic trooping of The Colour's component will be added to the parade. There will be 125 members on parade along with The Regiment's Pipes and Drums. Over 200 family members and friends will be in attendance.
