Media Advisory: Tours of Maurice Lamontagne Institute Available All Summer

MONT-JOLI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 23, 2008) - This summer, Fisheries and Oceans Canada will be offering tours of the Maurice Lamontagne Institute to anyone interested in learning more about the Institute's projects, researchs and activities.

The tours will take place from June 23 to August 22 at 10 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They will be approximately 90 minutes long. Reservations can be made by calling 418-775-0500.

The Maurice Lamontagne Institute is a key player in Quebec's maritime area and its operations generate significant economic benefits for the region. The Institute has an annual budget of approximately $32 million and a staff of some 400 employees. The projects, research and activities carried out from the Institute are critical to Fisheries and Oceans Canada's mission and create ideal conditions for providing Canadians with safe and accessible waterways, healthy and productive aquatic ecosystems and sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.
