Media Advisory/TSB Media Update-Investigation Next Steps: Cougar Helicopters Sikorsky S-92A

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - March 19, 2009) - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has completed the recovery of significant items of the wreckage. At this stage, investigators are beginning what will be a lengthy examination and analysis of the wreckage to try to determine what happened and why.

Later today, the Investigator-in-Charge, Mike Cunningham, and the Operations Team Lead, Charles Laurence, will be available to provide an update on the latest developments.

Interviews with Mr. Cunningham will be possible upon request until 3 p.m. local time.

Interviews in French with Mr. Laurence will only be possible between 1 and 2 p.m. local time.

Note: The TSB hopes to be in a position to provide another update and photos sometime next week.
