Media Advisory/TSB Media Update: Recovery Process Continues for Cougar Helicopters Sikorsky S-92A

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - March 16, 2009) - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) confirms that nine more bodies have been returned to port and that the recovery process continues.

The TSB's first priority today is to speak to the families and loved ones to ensure that all of their questions have been addressed.

Once the TSB has met with families, the Investigator-in-Charge, Mike Cunningham, or the Operations Team Lead, Charles Laurence, will be available for phone interviews only as their investigative work continues. Interviews will be possible between 1 and 3 p.m. local time.

The TSB thanks you for your patience and understanding.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
