CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 31, 2011) -

WHAT: UFA Co-Operative Limited will be unveiling their new state-of-the-art bovine simulator at the launch of the Cattleman's College educational series.

In partnership with Dr. Gordon Krebs from The University of Calgary's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Simulator Industries, the simulator will enable agricultural students and members of the beef industry to gain practical experience without causing discomfort or injury to a live animal. Complete with calf simulator, this anatomically correct training tool will be housed at Olds College in Olds, Alberta and will allow animal health professionals to demonstrate proper procedures and cow/calf care to producers and students within the school of agriculture. This increased training will help lead to the healthy delivery of calves and the well-being of cows.

The UFA Cow/Calf Simulator Is the only simulator of its kind available that is capable of duplicating complications caused by calving. The unique partnership between retail agribusiness and educational professionals is a strong example of how industry and society can work together for the betterment of our communities.
