Media Advisory: Update New Time-Calgary, Will You Play Hockey for Food?

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 5, 2011) - Richard Loat, Victor Lo and Jonathan Buyco are on a 17-day road trip of a lifetime. The trio from B.C. is driving from Newfoundland to Vancouver this summer, stopping in 13 cities along the way, and playing ball hockey to collect donations for local food banks.

The public is invited to bring their hockey stick and play in organized drop-in ball hockey games in each city. While there is no charge to play, participants and spectators are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation. Volunteers from the local food bank will be on site to collected donations.

Last year's campaign collected almost 6,000 pounds of food for Canadian food banks. Five Hole for Food's goal in 2011 is to bring in 20,000 pounds.
