Media Advisory/VAC: Official Opening of Operational Stress Injury Clinic in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 19, 2009) - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, and Ms. Anne Sutherland Boal, Chief Operating Officer, Vancouver Acute, Vancouver Coastal Health, will officially open the newest operational stress injury (OSI) clinic in Veterans Affairs Canada's national network.

The new clinic, funded by Veterans Affairs Canada and operated by Vancouver Coastal Health, will provide diagnosis, assessment and treatment services for Veterans, Canadian Forces and eligible Royal Canadian Mounted Police members and their families living with operational stress injuries.

Remarks will be made by Minister Thompson and Ms. Sutherland Boal. Media are invited to tour the Clinic with Minister Thompson. This is the seventh clinic Veterans Affairs Canada has opened. By the end of this year, there will be 10 such clinics located across the country.
