Media Advisory: Veterans Affairs Minister Steven Blaney and Veteran Ray Paquette to Participate in Ceremonial Puck Drop at Ottawa Senators Game

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 8, 2011) - As part of Veterans' Week, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, together with peacekeeping Veteran Ray Paquette, will take part in a ceremonial puck drop to honour Canada's Veterans at an Ottawa Senators hockey game with the New York Rangers during Veterans' Week.

Mr. Paquette was a cadet during the Second World War, joined the regular army in 1950 and completed tours in Northwestern Europe and Vietnam. He will be escorted on the ice by two current cadets. At 81 years of age, Mr. Paquette continues to play hockey in an oldtimers league in Ottawa.
