Media Advisory: Welcome Hall Mission is the 9th Stop of the GotGinch 2011 Cross-Canada Underwear Drive Delivery of 35,000 Pairs of Men's Underwear

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 29, 2011) - On Monday, October 3rd, the GotGinch 2011 Cross-Canada Underwear Drive arrives at Montreal's Welcome Hall Mission. It's the 9th stop in the delivery of 35,000 pairs of men's underwear to 10 homeless shelters in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.

Calgary entrepreneur Brent King came up with the concept in 2009 after realizing that all homeless shelters need new underwear. He teamed up with GotGinch and personally delivered 25,000 pairs of ginch (underwear briefs) among 10 shelters across the country raising the awareness of homelessness. Last year, he was joined by Robb Price, the founder of Delivergood.org, a free online tool that matched charities and non-profits who need goods (stuff) with people and companies who have stuff. They're back again with even more ginch!

Since 1892, Welcome Hall Mission has been operating one of Montreal's largest men's shelters. Today, it also has a live-in rehabilitation program and offers free dental care to the homeless and low-income populations. Through its Family Services, food, clothing and other items are distributed to 800 families every week. Some 10,000 children from underprivileged neighbourhoods participate in our Children's Services activities and camp outings. Youth Services reaches out to homeless youth through counseling and hot meals and helps young pregnant street women through its Coeur à Soeur program.
