WHAT: Sponsored by Sobeys Liquor and Safeway Wine & Spirits, Winefest Calgary is back this year to spoil your senses. This annual event offers a unique opportunity to explore new products and flavours from the wine industry. Celebrating its 24th year in Calgary, Winefest invites guests to sample from a wide selection of local and international wines from 15 of the world's top wine countries. Guests will have the opportunity to taste what's new and hot in the wine scene with products from more than 70 wineries, including 41 new-to-Alberta wines. Wine sampling is accompanied by a variety of hors d'oeuvres from Stampede Park Catering, Terra International Foods, Cococo Chocolatiers, Springbank Cheese, and more. Tickets provide guests with access to wine tasting, delicious nibbles, a complimentary Riedel wine glass and Tasting Notebook.
The People's Choice Awards - Alberta's longest standing wine competition, allows guests to explore, sample and vote for their favourite wines to determine top consumer picks for every palate and price point. Guests can also stop by The Sobeys Liquor and Safeway Wine & Spirits Onsite Store to pick up their most exciting finds.
Attendees are encouraged to partake in Winefest's food drive by bringing a non-perishable food item or monetary donation for the Calgary Food Bank. New this year, Winefest will be topping up monetary donations by 25 per cent and making every donation go further by contributing one dollar for every pound of food donated!
WHO: Winefest is a weekend of indulgence for those wishing to increase their wine knowledge and discover new wines, as well as have fun with friends or family.
