Media Advisory: World Juniors and City of Edmonton to Host Pep Rally for Team Canada at City Hall

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 15, 2011) -

PHOTO OP: Edmontonians will gather at City Hall to welcome Team Canada to the City and cheer them on before the tournament begins.

WHEN: Friday, December 23, 2011, noon – 12:30 p.m. MT

WHAT: After yesterday's long-awaited announcement of Team Canada's roster for the upcoming 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship, the World Juniors and the City of Edmonton have joined forces to host a noon-hour pep rally for Team Canada at City Hall!

This is the first time that Team Canada will be in Edmonton, and hockey fans are invited to join in on the excitement and cheer Team Canada on prior to their first pre-tournament game in Edmonton.

As a part of the festivities, Paul Brandt's new music video for the World Juniors theme song "I Was There" will be featured and the country superstar will bring a special video greeting to the team and fans. Team Canada players will also be sharing their personal "I Was There" moments with the crowd.

WHY: The pep rally will be the only opportunity to see the entire Team Canada in Edmonton before the tournament begins.
