Media Advisory: World-Leading Researcher Wins Canada's Most Prestigious Science Prize

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 14, 2008) - On Monday, March 17, 2008, Dr. Colin Carrie, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry, on behalf of the Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), will join Dr. Suzanne Fortier, President of NSERC, to present the Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering.

The winning scientist will be honoured for his work at a dinner, along with the six winners of the NSERC E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fellowships.

The scientists will be available during the day for media interviews. Their photos will also be available.
