Each year the Gourmet Gala, the largest St. Jude event in D.C., brings together the area's most critically acclaimed chefs to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Donations benefit St. Jude's mission to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where no child is ever denied treatment due to a family's inability to pay.

This annual sell-out event is attended by more than 750 business, financial and political leaders in the D.C. area, and is organized by an Honorary and Advisory Committee including prestigious area leaders as Allan McArtor, Chairman of Airbus North America Holdings Inc.; Judy Heisley Bishop, Executive Director of the Heisley Family Foundation; Tom Liljenquist, owner of Liljenquist and Beckstead Jewelers; and Chef Geoff Tracy, owner of LIA's, Chef Geoff's, Chef Geoff's Tysons and Chef Geoff's Downtown.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital's research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today. It is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children, and no family ever pays St. Jude for care. For more information, visit
