MEDIA ALERT: 2nd Annual Coffee Time 241 Pizza Canadian Multicultural Hockey Championships (CMHC)

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 22, 2006) - The Canadian Multicultural Hockey (CMHL) Inc. is holding its 2nd annual Coffee Time 241 Pizza Canadian Multicultural Hockey Championships.



WHERE: Men's Games: Scarborough Gardens Birchmount)and Ted Reeve Arena
Women's Games: Scarborough Centennial and Scarborough Village

WHEN: Wednesday to Saturday, Dec. 27-30, 2006

FOCUS: This year's highlights of the Coffee Time 241 Pizza CMHC 2006
include:
- Three new awards: "The Dalton McGuinty Award" for leadership,
perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey through
inter-community relations. "The John Tory Award" to the MVP,
women's division and "The Howard Hampton Award" to the MVP,
men's division
- An increased roster from 16 teams in 2005 to 20 will be vying
for the Canadian Cup, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals
- The 2005 champions of the Canadian Cup will have a $5000
donation made to their favorite charity
- A new women's division of six teams will compete for Gold,
Silver and Bronze medals
- An increased total of games to be played from 37 in 2005 to 64
- The Heritage Bowl will go to the Champions of a Final between
the winners of the Canadian Cup and the winners of the
(Madawaska Valley hosted) 2nd Annual Opeongo Heritage
Cup-Barry's Bay on April 1st, 2007.
