Media Alert: Getting to Maker Faire Bay Area 2012 -- Plan Ahead

SEBASTOPOL, CA--(Marketwire - May 14, 2012) - Maker Faire, the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, held on May 19 and 20 at the San Mateo County Event Center, will be well-attended and attendees are encouraged to make an advance plan to get to the event to avoid traffic congestion and delays. Maker Faire highly recommends that attendees use alternative or public transportation methods instead of driving, or carpool or bike to the event.

Riding Your Bike to the Event: Attendees biking to Maker Faire will receive $5 off their on-site ticket purchase. There are several options for bike parking and free shuttle service to the event detailed here:

Arriving by Car, Paid and Free Parking Options, Directions: Expect delays and congestion around the Event Center, including Highways 92 and 101, the day of the event. Parking at the Event Center is $20 per car per day and fills up quickly in the morning. It is highly recommended that attendees plan ahead to make use of free parking and shuttle options.
