Media Alert: Open-Silicon Shows IoT ASIC Solutions at IoT Developers Conference & IoT Technology Symposium

Demos and Speakers Showcase Industrial IoT ASIC Platform

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - May 04, 2015) - Open-Silicon, an ASIC solutions provider, will demonstrate the company's "Industrial IoT ASIC Platform," at two upcoming IoT Conferences. The Internet of Things Developers conference (May 6-7, 2015 - Santa Clara, CA) and the Internet of Things Technology Symposium (May 21, 2015, San Jose, CA). Open-Silicon is also presenting a poster on "Semiconductor Technologies: The Future of IoT," illustrating challenges and optimum solutions.

What:
Exhibit:
Open-Silicon will showcase the company's Industrial IoT ASIC Platform.
This demonstrates end-to-end communication between sensor hubs and cloud platform through a gateway device. The sensor hubs are conceptualized as an outdoor, factory floor and an in-room, based on the type of radio technology. The Industrial IoT system setup is a part of Open-Silicon's Spec2Chip IoT Platform, which allows IoT ASIC designs to be evaluated at system level.

Poster Presentation:
Semiconductor Technologies: The Future of IoT
The IoT market demands a low cost and ultra-low power ASIC, and this is where the former process nodes are more appealing. Moreover, low-power design schemes, security architecture and ultra-low power cores need to be considered for making a compelling IoT ASIC. Also at this stage the IoT market seems to be more driven by software, but the scenario will soon change when the demand of running imaging algorithms, fusion stack, and other DSP functions in hardware will arise. The key thing to consider here is that not everything could be put into hardware, so partitioning becomes important. To achieve an optimum solution, a clear understanding of which elements should be partitioned in hardware and/or software is necessary.
