SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 29, 2012) - Reply!, the leading marketplace for locally-targeted advertisers, will host its second annual invitation-only event, "Holidays with a Purpose," to benefit the FEED Foundation and the Mona Foundation on December 4th at 12pm PST at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, CA. The event will be hosted by Reply.com and Payam Zamani and headlined by The Office's Rainn Wilson, a long-time supporter of the MONA Foundation, and the FEED Foundation's Lauren Bush Lauren. Sponsors to date include Marin Software, Neustar, AutoUSA, Merchant e-Solutions, Comerica, The Gratitude Fund, PRG, Nations Info, Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Caspio and Threadlife, Zappos founder Nick Swinmurn's newest venture.
"We encourage every company and every professional in Silicon Valley and elsewhere to incorporate philanthropic giving into their holiday activities. Regardless of the amount, the act of giving shows that we collectively care," said Payam Zamani, Founder and CEO of Reply.com. "Silicon Valley creates technologies that have dramatically changed the world. There's so much more we in the community can do with the resources and clout that we have to better the world. We are excited that 'Holidays with a Purpose' will bring us together to help provide for basic needs such as food and education."
Co-founded by Lauren Bush Lauren, the FEED Foundation is dedicated to supporting programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition throughout the world. As of 2011, the FEED Foundation and its retail partner FEED Projects have provided 60 million free, nutritious school meals to children in 62 countries.
The FEED Foundation is a new beneficiary of Reply.com's annual giving event. Contributions at last year's event supported the Mona Foundation, whose main objectives are to provide quality education to all children, raise the status of women and girls, and build community capacity in areas where its partner projects are located. The Seattle-based organization supports many projects around the world, including the New Horizon School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the Association of the Cohesive Development of the Amazon in Brazil, and the Digital Study Hall in India.
Reply.com's benefit last year raised $100,000 for the Mona Foundation, which helped expand the New Horizon School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This year's event aims to match last year's donations to the Mona Foundation as well as raise another $100,000 to fund one million school meals through the FEED Foundation. One hundred percent of contributions to the Mona Foundation and the FEED Foundation will go directly to sponsored programs, with no donations going to administrative or overhead fees.
