There are only 10 days left before the big night, but it's not too late to send Santa Claus your Christmas wish list. Children can still get a personalized reply from Santa's Hotmail account if they email him before December 21st.

More than 36,000 emails have been received in less than three weeks. So to meet the high demand, Elfred Elveson, chief IT officer for the North Pole is now giving kids the chance to talk to Santa directly by adding Santa to their buddy list in Windows Live (MSN) Messenger. Elveson will be available beginning Thursday, December 14th for interviews.

"Today's kids want to email or IM Santa their wish lists right up until the last minute, so we need to give them options," says Elveson. "By adding Santa to their buddy lists, now kids can talk directly to the boss."

Children visiting www.asksanta.ca can connect to Santa's website where they can email their wish lists, play games or download colouring sheets. Santa has even included a recipe or two for his favourite cookies! They can also add northpole@live.com to their contacts in Windows Live Messenger to chat directly with the jolly old man.

Kids can also read Santa's blog on Windows Live Spaces to get their bedtime updates from the big guy or to add him to their friends list.

"These technologies weren't around when I was a little guy but I'm very excited about them. They have helped me to connect directly with all the good little boys and girls across Canada," said Santa Claus. "Now we can count down to the big night together!"

Santa said he will respond personally to each email he receives. To let Santa know if you've been naughty or nice, please visit www.asksanta.ca.
