Media Ventures Group Hires MLB Digital Director David L. Cohen as Vice President

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 8, 2011) - Media Ventures Group, a company that specializes in driving revenue and business growth for clients in the sports, media, entertainment and non-profit industries, has hired David L. Cohen as Vice President of Digital Strategy and Business Development, effective immediately. Cohen brings with him a decade of digital media executive experience managing online properties for major media entities.

Reporting to founder and CEO Richard Yaffa, Cohen will lead Media Ventures Group's digital strategy efforts, overseeing development of proprietary digital platforms and new business relationships that help build and monetize communities of fans, donors, activists, customers and supporters.

Cohen comes to Media Ventures Group from Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), where he was Director of the Partner Solutions Group. In his role, Cohen oversaw business and content relationships with dozens of baseball and non-baseball clients, including MLB teams, TV networks, sports leagues, athletes, musicians and non-profit organizations. The focus of his work has been on managing digital strategy, online content production and monetization, sponsorship implementation, website design and development, multimedia and mobile initiatives, social-media planning and strategic digital business partnerships.

Prior to MLBAM, Cohen was part of the original startup team at CSTV: College Sports Television (now CBS Sports Network), where he ultimately served as Senior Online Editor of the network's digital content and information portal after playing a critical role in helping the startup grow into an industry game-changer.

Cohen received an MBA from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from Lehigh University.
