Digital Communications Veterans Erik Herz and Toby Holmes Engage With a Growing Enterprise Client and Partner Ecosystem


LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2011) - MediaPlatform, the enterprise video software company, today announced the addition of two new members to its executive team to help meet the growing demand in the enterprise for online video. Erik Herz will serve as director of business development while Toby Holmes will serve as director of sales for the Northwest, Midwest and Latin American regions. Together, they bring more than 30 years of strategic digital communications and webcasting experience to the company's growing enterprise customer base.

Since joining MediaPlatform, Herz has been instrumental in establishing relationships with partners such as Research in Motion (RIM) as part of its BlackBerry Alliance Program. In addition to leading business development, Herz is responsible for all direct sales in the New England and Eastern Canada regions. This includes the recent sale of MediaPlatform software to Onstream Media Corporation. He has been webcasting since 1997 when he was an application engineer in the Real Broadcast Network. Since then, Herz has managed the web services group at Virage, where he produced several CEO town hall webcasts and started his own company, Webcast in a Box, where he sold the company's webcasting solution to the US Navy, CNN and several large universities. He was part of the Kontiki team as an account manager within VeriSign and was the video services director at VBrick. Herz earned a bachelor of arts degree from Humboldt State University.

As an expert in digital communications and webcast campaign management, Holmes provides unique insight into how webcasting and business video drive business critical results. Holmes ran the webcasting division of Worktank, a digital marketing and webcasting company located in Seattle, Washington where his team managed advanced webcast programs for more than 80 companies, including Deloitte, Kraft Foods, AT&T wireless, Microsoft and Autodesk. In addition, Holmes has held senior product marketing and sales positions with JP Morgan Chase and Foss Maritime Company, where he established new strategic partnerships to grow into new markets. Holmes received his MBA from the University of Washington and undergraduate degree from Grinnell College.
