MediaSpan Names New Senior Executives

Company Drives Its Integrated Multimedia Strategy by Building Ranks With Top Newspaper Talent

Steven Barth has joined the Online Services unit as Executive Vice President and Shawn Duffy has been appointed Vice President of Sales for MediaSpan's Media Software unit.

As Executive Vice President, MediaSpan Online Services, Mr. Barth, 49, will direct all of the unit's strategic, technical development and sales operations. Mr. Barth joins the MediaSpan team from Freedom Communications where he had been Vice President, Interactive Metro Division since 2005. Prior to Freedom, he managed several consulting projects involving Internet 2.0 businesses including Tribe.net, Merchant Circle and Ad2Ad Networks. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barth held executive level positions at the Los Angeles Times, where he helped to launch recycler.com, cars.com, apartments.com, careerbuilder.com in the Southern California marketplace and with United Publishers, where he was VP Marketing and Sales.

Mr. Duffy, 42, will be responsible for managing all aspects of MediaSpan Media Software's sales activities, including domestic, international and sales administration. Mr. Duffy, who has been MediaSpan Media Software Director of Sales for the Great Lakes region since 2002, has more than 13 years of experience in the media software industry. He started with Baseview Products in 1993 in an Installation and Training position and has progressed through the organization. Mr. Duffy graduated with a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Central Michigan University and served in the U.S. Army.
