Medical Alarm Concepts and JTT-EMS in Medical Alarm and Senior Communications Services Joint Venture

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA--(Marketwired - Jan 13, 2014) - Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc. (OTC Pink: MDHI) and JTT Energy Management Solutions Ltd of Vancouver, Canada, today announced a joint venture to provide communication and emergency contact services for Cantonese and Mandarin speaking senior citizens living in Canada and the United States. The service, which will be launched in conjunction with Hong Kong-based D-100 Radio, operated by Global Chinese Network LTD, will initially be launched in Toronto and Vancouver, with expansion to San Francisco and other U.S. and Canadian cities over the coming months.

The new service offering will utilize a dedicated radio channel provided by D100, (www.d100.net) which will provide 24-hour Cantonese language programming for seniors. Integrated into the programming will be various service offerings that seniors can access by pressing their "easy call in button." Medical Alarm Concepts will be providing its MediPendant® product for use as the call-in apparatus, providing the senior with not only a way to interact with the service provider in a two-way manner, but also to summon help in the event of a fall or other medical emergency.

Alex Pui, General Manager of JTT-EMS commented, "Many seniors feel isolated at home and this service is designed to alleviate this situation. The two-way, speak and listen through the pendant technology of the MediPendant®, makes this service offering possible and much more flexible than any other technology on the market. We plan to begin marketing the service as soon as we receive our initial shipment of MediPendant® devices. There are already over 300,000 Chinese-speaking subscribers to the D100 programming and the service continues to grow rapidly. We are excited to be partnering with Medical Alarm Concepts and D100 to bring this important service offering to the Chinese communities of Canada and the U.S."

The senior-oriented programming, which will be provided by well established D100 Radio of Hong Kong, will allow seniors to respond directly via the MediPendant® device to a call center to receive information about local events and product offerings that may be of interest to them. The call center operator has designed a sophisticated machine-based language translation service to enable the mainly Cantonese and Mandarin speaking customer base to easily communicate with the call center and to provide a direct link to a Hong Kong-based operator if needed. In addition to being an information service that will allow the user to speak and listen through the pendant to the call center operator, the MediPendant® can also be used as an emergency communications device to summon help in the event of an emergency.

Ronnie Adams, CEO of Medical Alarm Concepts, commented, "With the software-based operating system of the MediPendant®, we are able to easily program the device to 'speak' any language. We are currently working on the Cantonese language programming that will support this new offering, which will complement the device's English, Spanish, Danish and Mandarin language capabilities. This new service offering is an innovative use of our patented, two-way, speak and listen through the pendant technology. We look forward to supporting this joint venture and to supplying our MediPendant® product so as to enable the Cantonese and Mandarin speaking senior population to not only be connected in the event of an emergency, but to also access the resources of this innovative information delivery service in order to improve the quality of their lives."
