Medical Device Daily Highlights 3DIcon's Innovative 3D Imaging Technology

Company Also Announces Addition of New York Based Marketing and PR Firm

TULSA, OK--(Marketwired - September 29, 2014) - 3DIcon Corporation (PINKSHEETS: TDCP), a developer of groundbreaking 3D projection display technologies that are designed to produce full color, 360-degree volumetric high-resolution images, commented today on the recent media coverage the company has received from Medical Device Daily.

Medical Device Daily, a Thomson Reuters publication, printed an article this morning, '3DIcon to pursue NIH grant for volumetric imaging technology', which details the Company's intent to submit a grant proposal, the various applications in which the Company's technology can be utilized in the medical field, and the state of the current 3D medical technology market.

"We are extremely pleased with the recent media coverage of not just 3DIcon, but the entire 3D technology industry, particularly within the medical vertical, as a whole," said Victor Keen, CEO of 3DIcon. "This was a fantastic platform for 3DIcon to discuss the many ways we can innovate the medical technology space using 3D imaging, and recent announcements from industry stalwarts like GE only validate the technology's value even further."

The Medical Device Daily article gives a history of 3DIcon and it's technology, before breaking down the variety of medical applications for which it could be used, including CT/MRI, diagnostics, surgery, and even medical education. The 3D medical imaging market was previously forecasted to reach approximately $5.9 billion by 2017.

If the NIH grant is awarded, 3DIcon and strategic partner SCHOTT Defense, a federal focused subsidiary of SCHOTT North America, Inc., along with other strategic partners, will work together to further develop and demonstrate glasses-free 3D volumetric display technology for neurological imaging.

The company also recently retained FischTank Marketing and PR, a New York City-based firm, to hone messaging, provide national media outreach, and advise on all marketing and communications functions.

"Our relationship with FischTank stems from the growth in interest in the 3D imaging media landscape, and the need for these innovative technologies to revolutionize various verticals like medical, defense, and energy," said Keen. "We're excited to continue to educate people on 3DIcon's revolutionary technology, and the variety of needs we can meet through volumetric 3D imaging."
