Medicalis Announces Exclusive Partnership With Strategic Radiology

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Dec 1, 2011) - Medicalis and Strategic Radiology (SR) today announced a new relationship where SR and its members will exclusively partner with Medicalis and utilize its evidence-based Decision Support platform for payers and other "at risk" entities to manage their population utilization risk, take on direct risk, and participate in Accountable Care Organizations.

"We are very excited to be chosen as Strategic Radiology's partner to provide a Decision Support-based solution to prepare for the changing future, especially with the shifting of financial risk to providers, either through the creation of Accountable Care Organizations, bundling, or providers taking on direct risk," said Oran Muduroglu, President and CEO of Medicalis. "Our Decision Support platform has successfully demonstrated significant reduction in imaging utilization by 'At Risk' providers, while increasing the quality and appropriateness of imaging based on local guidelines."

As the use and cost of advanced medical imaging services have increased over the past several years, Medicalis' Decision Support can equip radiology groups and payers to help physicians appropriately utilize advanced imaging services.

Dr. Arl Van Moore, President of Strategic Radiology, remarks: "SR groups have spent the past year studying the options for decision support software. We concluded that, for many reasons, Medicalis was the best solution to help our radiology groups and payers to work with our referring physicians to get to appropriate utilization of advanced imaging. Medicalis will allow SR groups to take leadership positions in their communities in assuring our referring physicians do the right radiology study at the right time. We are very excited about this groundbreaking relationship between Strategic Radiology and Medicalis."
