MedTech Impact® to Host Medical Devices & Wearable Technology Conference in Las Vegas, December 9-10

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - August 30, 2016) - The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the global leader for premium access to the latest innovations, breakthrough technologies and therapies in preventive medicine, is pleased to announce a new and exciting Expo and Conference focused on medical devices and wearable technology, debuting at the 24th Annual Winter World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine December 9-10, 2016 at the Venetian/Palazzo/Sands Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

"Our core teaching through all of our medical education entities relies heavily on technology and changes rapidly due to the landscape, so we knew we wanted to provide this opportunity for medical practitioners and hospital administrators to be exposed to the latest in the medical technology world," said Doreen Brown, CEO of the Tarsus Medical Group. "Being co-located with the A4M World Congress provides an unprecedented chance to bring the entire profession together, from practitioners to technological companies, electronic medical companies, and laboratories to move the needle forward in the high-tech future of medical care."

Exciting headline speakers will be gracing the MedTech Impact stage and have been announced thus far. Richie Etwaru, Chief Digital Officer of IMS Health will be opening as the first keynote and discussing: Healthcare 2041: What Will Healthcare Look Like in 25 Years? Our general session: Trends in Technology - What to Expect Moving Forward will feature some influential keynotes from Sutter Health and GE Healthcare. The Moderator, Paddy Padmanabhan from Damo Consulting, works with CIO's and CXO's on technology, analytics and digital strategies as he used to lead Technology Services for Accenture's healthcare practice. Panelists are Joshua Lieberman, PhD from Sutter Health, Anish Patankar from GE Healthcare and Wido Menhardt representing Beckman Coulter.

Several big players in the wearables consumer industry like Under Armour will be represented on stage by speaker Jeff Knight, Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Glennis Coursey, a User Experience Researcher, both part of Under Armour Connected Fitness. Jeff holds master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and Biochemistry and has a passion for sports science, particularly improving basic health through smarter exercise and technology. As a scientist, he has run fitness-based laboratory work coaching runners at every level. Glennis Coursey has developed personalized and scaleable digital health coaching programs that have empowered thousands of people to live healthier lives. She was the Coaching Director at Sessions and Coaching Lead at MyFitnessPal, but currently, at Under Armour Connected Fitness, she develops products for the world's largest health and fitness community. Kim Baden-Kristensen, Founder & CEO of Brain+ will be covering the Improvement of Patient Outcomes through Neurogaming as a headline speaker. Reenita Das, Partner & Senior VP of Healthcare & Life Sciences for Frost & Sullivan, will present Wearables: Shifting From Fitness into the World of Patient-Generated-Healthcare-Data (PGHD).

Closing the conference, we have Albert "Skip" Rizzo, an award-winning psychologist/neuropsychologist and the Director of Medical Virtual Reality at the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies. He conducts research on the design, development and evaluation of Virtual Reality systems targeting areas of clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation that have focus their work on many recent high profile clinical conditions including Autism, Alzheimer's stroke, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), ADHD and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

One of Tarsus Medical's other entities, the Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI), which provides premium evidence-based programs in metabolic, nutritional, Functional and Integrative medicine, will also be conducting courses during the 24th Annual Winter World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine. MMI received accreditation by two US universities, including George Washington University, for its Fellowship curriculum. The Fellowship provides physicians and health care practitioners with the skills and clinical application protocols for a preventative approach to disease and overall patient care. It is an interactive educational experience that features advanced training and web broadcasts, teaching the knowledge and skills needed to effectively practice personalized, regenerative and functional medicine. Within its eight comprehensive modules, all important disease states are covered along with applicable protocols for doctors to track their patients' compliance that include many technologies and wearables.

Like its other entities, MMI and A4M, MedTech Impact aims to prepare practitioners to become leaders in a new form of medicine, one that is personalized, preventive and predictive. The organizations that have chosen to be present at the MedTech Impact Expo will have the opportunity to network with the physicians, practitioners and clinic administrators, developers and leading technologists who organize and decide on which medical technologies and wearables are best suited for their practices and individual patients. These individuals have already taken the step into the future with their investment into this education.

"The Fellowship is truly a place for them to rediscover the passion for patient care," according to Brown. "But most importantly, they can immediately begin to incorporate the teachings into their medical practice by using the missing technology piece. We can't help but envision their success."
