Meet Apollo 11 Astronaut, Buzz Aldrin at an Exclusive Media Screening of Magnificent Desolation: Walking on The Moon 3D on Tuesday September 20, 2005 at The Paramount IMAX Theatre

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 14, 2005) - Cineplex Galaxy LP (TSX:CGX.UN) -

Buzz Aldrin described his lunar walk experience in two words: Magnificent Desolation. One of only 12 astronauts to ever walk on the Moon' s surface, Dr. Aldrin' s description inspired the title of the film Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D. Now, through the magic of IMAX® 3D, audiences can experience the sights, sounds, and thoughts of Dr. Aldrin and the other Apollo astronauts; and at this exclusive media screening, Dr. Aldrin will share his own perspective prior to the film. This is a special advance screening of the film which opens in Canadian IMAX theatres Friday September 23, 2005.

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong landed their Lunar Module on the moon's Sea of Tranquility and became the first two humans to walk on the moon. Dr. Aldrin was presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor amongst over 50 other distinguished awards and medals from the United States and numerous other countries. Since retiring from NASA, the Air Force, and his position as Commander of the Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base, Dr. Aldrin has remained at the forefront of efforts to ensure a continued leading role for America in manned space exploration. To advance his lifelong commitment to venturing outward in space, he founded his rocket design company, Starcraft Boosters, Inc., and the ShareSpace Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to opening the doors to space tourism for all people.

This special evening will be attended by senior international space industry leaders as part of the International Lunar Conference 2005, and is not open to the public. The Conference is being hosted in Toronto beginning September 18 by the Canadian Space Agency, MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) and Optech Incorporated. The International Lunar Conference on the Exploration and Utilization of the Moon engages leading scientists and space industry professionals as they plan the world' s return to the Moon.
