Meeting Maker, Inc. Acquires PeopleCube; Becomes Leader in On-Demand Human Process Management

WALTHAM, Mass.--(CCNMatthews - Nov 14, 2005) -

Company is Renamed PeopleCube; Broadens Market Scope to Include Next Generation of Business Process Management

Meeting Maker, Inc., a leader in critical time and resource scheduling solutions, announced today that it has acquired U.K.-based PeopleCube, a provider of advanced on-demand Business Process Management (BPM) applications. Meeting Maker, Inc., whose management team remains in place, has been renamed PeopleCube™ to reflect its expanded focus. PeopleCube's solutions optimize people, processes and schedules -- enabling organizations to proactively manage their businesses, reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve productivity. The acquisition positions the new PeopleCube as a leader in Human Process Management (HPM), the next generation of BPM. This emerging trend leverages technology to integrate and manage the human role in business processes.

This acquisition represents the fourth for the company in two years. Maintaining corporate headquarters in Waltham, Mass., PeopleCube will continue to operate existing offices in the U.K. All PeopleCube employees will remain with the new company.

"Our focus has always been on developing scheduling solutions to address business needs," said John T. Anderson, president and CEO of PeopleCube. "Companies today are looking to derive more value from their business processes, and a key way to accomplish that is through Human Process Management -- integrating people with processes. Combining BPM technology with scheduling products enables PeopleCube to offer a key component that BPM was missing: visibility into the individual who implements the process. The end result is the optimization of people, processes and schedules to further business goals, which is the expanded vision of our company.

"We're adopting the 'PeopleCube' name because it fits our business goals -- by reinforcing the core role of people in the business process. At Meeting Maker, Inc. it has always been about people, an organization's key corporate asset. Further, the 'Cube' reflects the multi-dimensional components of what we do -- integrating people, processes and schedules," Anderson added.

"Companies continue to look for technology to help them improve the management of business processes," said Rebecca Wettemann, vice president, research, Nucleus Research. "Until now, most BPM software solutions have automated the flow of things; they have addressed the management of corporate resources or groups of people, yet are not able to drill down to measure the productivity, progress or resources of the individuals who participate in a process. PeopleCube helps bring this new level of individual integration to Business Process Management, positioning the company to address the industry's new focus on Human Process Management."

Human Process Management

Through this acquisition, PeopleCube has established a solid lead in the growing Human Process Management market. Until now, Business Process Management has primarily focused on activities and tasks -- tracking documents rather than focusing on individuals. Human Process Management focuses on integrating the individual into the process. PeopleCube solutions automate highly complex business processes and provide visibility into individual schedules and skill sets. Using real-time analytics and dashboard capabilities, managers can plan, measure and adjust workloads and resources to meet -- or exceed -- service-level agreements and key performance indicators.

On-Demand Delivery

PeopleCube is delivering its newly acquired BPM solution, ProcessCube (formerly known as PeopleCube 3.0), to customers using an on-demand delivery model. On-demand is gaining renewed popularity in the marketplace since it offers significant benefits: rapid deployment, improved ROI, reduced dependency on IT resources, and easy accessibility to internal and external employees.

PeopleCube Product Family/Integration Strategy

PeopleCube is well positioned to lead the burgeoning market for Human Process Management automation. PeopleCube's strategy is to integrate its traditional and newly acquired technology to create the industry's most advanced Human Process Management solutions. PeopleCube will continue to develop and service the existing Meeting Maker, Inc. product line of advanced calendaring and scheduling software solutions, including Meeting Maker, Resource Scheduler, Scheduler Plus and WebEvent.

Joining the traditional Meeting Maker, Inc. product line, ProcessCube is the only product of its kind that offers, through an on-demand delivery model, the ability to provide visibility into the individual's availability and skill sets, and real-time analytics to enable organizations to manage their businesses proactively.

ProcessCube was built on the state-of-the-art Microsoft .NET server platform. It includes an embedded BizTalk Server 2004 framework and a Sharepoint Portal Server. These technologies provide scalability; effective and efficient integration; and security benefits. ProcessCube has applications in business process outsourcing, shared service centers, human resource administration and logistics management. Since 1999, it has been used by leading organizations, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, UBS, Accenture, British Telecomm, Capgemini and BASF.
